Rich Hodge (he was our guest speaker at our 2006 Spring Retreat and we continue to regularly support him) will be going to South Africa shortly and has sent the following post card so that we can keep him in our prayers.

Project: Limat Woze Mekane Yesus Student Center

In his home, Muluayehu helps by running errands. He lives with his mother. His mother is sometimes employed as a seller in the market. There are 2 children in the family.
Soccer is Muluayehu's favorite activity. In primary school his performance is average and he also regularly attends church activities.
Your love and support will help Muluayehu receive the assistance he needs to develop his potential Please pray for him.

Community and Project Information:
Muluayehu lives in the hillside community of Arbaminch-Limat, home to approximately 120,000 residents. Typical houses are constructed of dirt floors, mud walls and tin roofs. The primary ethnic group is Gammo and hte most commonly spoken language is Gammotso.
The regional diet consists of maize and potatoes. Common health problems in this area include malaria, thphoid, typhus and HIV/AIDS. Most adults are unemployed but some work as day laborers and earn the equivalent of $18 per month. This community has water and electricity but needs school buildings, educational materials, employment opportunities and income generating activities.
Your sponorship allows the staff of Limat Woze Mekane Yesus Student Center to provide Muluayehu with Bible teaching, hygiene education, supplementary food, clothing, sports, social events, health screening, educational materials, tuition and tutoring. Thirty percent of the children in this project are not attending school because they lack economic resources. The center staff will also provide health education, opportunities for project involvement and evangelism for the parents or guardians of Muluayehu.
